Over the past few years, I have been commissioned to undertake a number of fine drawings of horses. These have been of horses and ponies owned locally and abroad. For me, to do fine drawings of horses is a real pleasure – and something that I find endlessly challenging!

As you know, I am a keen horse rider and I am interested in all types of horses, the way they look, their individual characteristics and the way they behave. All horses have their own particular characters and it is my aim, when undertaking fine drawings of horses, to try and capture the very essence of the horse or pony concerned. It is this aspect that I find most fascinating and is what I try to illustate in my drawings.

My aim, of course, is to produce a picture that is truly individual and that allows the personality of the horse concerned to shine through. That is, I believe, what makes my drawings so special and why they have real value.
